Description

This is part of a large auction of blues, doo-wop, jazz & R&B 10" 78's from the late 1940's into the 50's. There are a handful of unusual small labels represented here as well as some promos and several early recordings by performers who would go on to be big stars.
Here's the info on this item:

Release: Jimmy Reed And His Trio - You Don't Have To Go / Boogie In The Dark

Format: 78 rpm 10" shallac record

Year: 1954

Notes: Maroon label first pressing. Early record by Reed and one of just three recorded under this band name. The Trio was John Brim, Albert King and an unknown bass player. Two great mid-tempo blues tracks in the Chicago style.

Record Condition: E-, The record has several scuffs and shallow scratches. Despite the visual wear, it plays remarkably well. Clean and clear sound, basically no crackle at all. No skips or ticks. Labels are relatively nice and clean. Solid player copy that sounds almost E+, but looks worse.

All records I sell have been personally cleaned and play tested. I am an experienced grader and use the VJM grading system, but please see pictures as so much of this is subjective. These will be shipped in sleeves in a cardboard sandwich in an oversize box for maximum protection.

I want buying from me to be a good experience for you. I also know that condition can be very subjective, so I encourage you to see pics for exact condition details and ask questions if you need additional information. As always, the item you see is the one you will get. Please see my feedback, I think that will show that I am an accurate and fair grader and make sure my customers are happy.

I will combine shipping for anyone who wins more than one item.  If you do need combined shipping, please wait for an invoice before paying.
