The Capitol Record - A Souvenir Of The Capitol Tower 7" PROMOTIONAL ONLY EP on Capitol (no catalog number is listed on the cover, spine or record labels. The matrix #'s are 45-PRO-254-D1/45-PRO-255-D1.
This EP celebrates the early history of Capitol and features snippets of a nice selection of their artists, from Frank Sinatra (with a portion of the first ever recording at Capitol Tower Recording Studio conducted by Sinatra) to Bozo The Clown and Bugs Bunny and friends to Dean Martin and Jackie Gleason. The narrator is George Fenneman, who is best known as Groucho Marx' sidekick/announcer on You Bet Your Life.

aLSO his 7” 45 rpm EP record contains an excerpt of the tone poem “Orange”
The record’s golden label matches the color scheme of the special cardboard jacket that houses it. The front of the jacket shows an artist’s illustration of the Capitol Tower, while the rear features a photograph of Sinatra conducting a 56-piece orchestra at the Tower’s first recording session on Feb. 22, 1956.
This record with a special thick cardboard cover was only given to the 500 invited guests who attended the grand opening dedication of the Capitol Tower on Apr. 22, 1956.
