VERY RARE PINK FLOYD: The Dark Side Of The Moon ORG 1st Press UK LP SOLID PRISM

Welcome to my listings.

Before you place a bid would you / could you take the time to please read my listing including the Terms & Conditions.
Terms & Conditions you will find below at the bottom of my listing and unless I have mis-written them I believe they are quite clear. If they are not or you wish to clarify anything then please message/email me before bidding.

If you just want to skip to the details about this item, see the descriptive text below and check out the photos in the listing by enlarging and scrolling through.

All the LP's that are listed have been cleaned by The Audio Desk Systeme Vinyl Pro Cleaner which incorporates an ultrasonic cleaning cycle to a more conventional mechanical cleaning via bi-directional rotating micro fiber cleaning drums, the result is the cleanest LP's ever. Unlike other record cleaners the ultrasonic Vinyl Cleaner bursts millions of microscopic bubbles off the surface of the record all the way to the bottom of the groove, where no fibre is fine enough to reach. Among vinyl cleaners the Audio Desk System Vinyl Cleaner is unique in using filtered air for drying, rather than one of the static-inducing suction systems employed by other vinyl cleaning products.

All items are packed and dispatched in heavy duty LP mailers with cardboard reinforcements. I use heavy duty packaging tape. I always separate the LP from the sleeve and any inner sleeves that are part of the LP. This stops any damage to the item while in transit.

PINK FLOYD: The Dark Side Of The Moon Ultra rare and very hard to find Genuine Original 1973 UK first pressing 10-track LP with SOLID BLUE PRISM labels and silver lettering, Gramophone Co. perimeter text. This has the A2/B2 matrices and has the well known pressing fault, where it skips a couple of times during the song Money. This example has right-side pocket opening only (not glued) and displays a distinct green colour tinge unlike the jet black print of later issues, also includes the black lined inner, two stickers & two matt posters.

From the Pink Floyd Archives.
Pressings that use A-2 / B-2 lacquers have minor sound quality issues, particularly during the song, Money. Some copies also have a skip pressed into the grooves during the song Money. Such issues were corrected with the A-3 / B-3 cuttings, with the exception of the peak level distortion during the clocks at the beginning of the song Time (the MFSL UHQR LP is the only vinyl pressing without such distortion).
Copies of the Dark Side of the Moon LP with solid blue triangle labels without any stamper or mother numbers in the matrix are not U.K. releases (they are likely from Denmark). All U.K. EMI releases will have some sort of stamping code in the matrix. SHVL804

PLAY GRADED:
Equipment used to test this LP was my Townsend Rock turntable, Linn Ittok modified arm and
Audio Technica VM95ML Shibata modified cartridge. Lavardin IS amp with Trilogy 906 phono stage. Speakers are Impluse H6's.

Side 1
There is surface noise to the lead in track and through the very quieter moments but nothing that was to the detriment to the tracks or any listening pleasure. There was just the quietest click on the very last track which was heard for 3 revolutions. Otherwise side one played without any major pops or noisy crackle.
The noise floor through all tracks was low and did not over power or intrude when listening.

Side 2
Lead in to track one had low surface noise, all tracks played with again very low noise floor even in the quieter places. Again no tracks exhibited over loud pops or crackle the only noise that was evident was the very last seconds on the last track leading into the dead wax. The noise floor through all tracks was low and did not over power or intrude when listening.
Side 2 has a visible mark on track 2 and a visible mark on track 3 both did not intrude into the listening when played.

Overall every track played with clarity that was astounding for an LP that is 49 years old. I’ve heard modern recordings with more surface noise than this LP. Sonically there was no distortion, there was depth and a full picture of music. The LP sonically clearly has not been played to death and on play back it has many more years of life in between the grooves.
It truly was a joy to listen too, and if graded out of 10 then it clearly exhibited is touching 8/10.
Visually it’s not mint but it certainly sounds excellent.

Please note that this is a used item and there is always isolated static, ticks, light pops that maybe or can be heard, even in the quieter places during the play of any vinyl. There will be elements of surface noise. More noise than others. Please remember that this is an original 44 year old vinyl. A habit of cleaning the vinyl with a carbon brush before each play will reduce any static. If possible you should have the LP occasionally professionally cleaned.

I cannot guarantee exactly how this LP will sound on your turntable/system - Cartridge and stylus profile, tracking weight, Arm VTA, arm type all go to make a difference to the sound and playback of this LP.

THE COVER: The cover shows light wear to the top and bottom edges, all 4 corners have just the lightest minimal wear with no damage. There is no damage to the spine which has only minimal creasing. There is storage surface scuffing. There is no other damage to the cover and has been graded in EXCELLENT condition.

THE BACK COVER: Remains identical to the front, but does show slightly more surface scuffing and has been graded in EXCELLENT condition.

THE INSIDE COVER: The inside when viewed is in perfect condition with no wear or damage. And has been graded in EXCELLENT condition.

THE INNER SLEEVE:
The Die-cut black inner sleeve has the patent numbers and "Made in Great Britain" in silver at the bottom has been graded in VERY GOOD condition. There is no wear, splits, writing or other damage.

PLEASE READ CAREFULLY
GRADING: I only grade in line with UK Record Collector grading system as set out in the Record Collector Price Guide book, and do not use USA Goldmine grading system. The only difference I make against the Record Collector grading system is I grade a record Mint if its sealed, I do not believe a record to be mint if not sealed. My highest grade for an opened LP is near mint.
I grade under a strong light that picks out any imperfections on the vinyl.

If for any reason you disagree with my grading or reason4n90then please email me through the ebay message system and lets resolve the matter as adults before leaving negative feedback. Everybody on here believes they are an expert well we are not, we are human and can sometimes get things wrong. If I have got it so wrong I will work with you to resolve it. I can not be any fairer than that, but please check my feedback you will see I do not get it wrong that often, I try very hard to give an accurate description, apart from the one member who left negative because I would not be subjected to feedback hostaging.
Please note all International buyers you are responsible for any custom charges incurred.
