Welcome to another Auction from PLAN 9 and RECORD FINDERS!

Bidders outside the US, take note: We DO NOT devalue items for the sake of avoiding customs fees for your respective countries. This fee should be taken into consideration BEFORE you bid on our items!

Up for bid is a rare LP, "Honky Tonk Popcorn," Bill Doggett (backed by the James Brown Band). This is part of a collection we recently acquired from an owner who took great care of his records. Here is some extra info about this LP from the internet:

"Funky funky Hammond – an incredible album that has organist Bill Dogget playing with the James Brown Band of the 60s! And sure, sometimes Dogget could be sleepy – but not on this album, as it kicks like a James Brown record with funky organ over the top! Nearly ever cut's a winner – with James, Pee Wee Ellis, and the rest of the group pitching in to give Bill the hippest sound he ever cut on wax. The album includes the legendary funky break cuts "Honky Tonk" and "Honky Tonk Popcorn", plus lots of other nice groovers, like "A Doozy", "Mad", "Slippin In", and "Corner Pocket". Very nice, and produced by James Brown himself!"

This was released by King (KS 1078) in 1969. This LP is a solid VG+, with several very light scuffs on either side. However, this LP plays with very little surface noise (some light intermittent crackle) - sounds amazing!! I am sure a professional clean would eliminate most of the surface noise. LP is extremely clean and retains a nice gloss. Etched matrix info is KS-1078-A/KS-1078-B. Jacket is a solid VG+, with no seam splits. There is a small hole punch in the front top left corner (see pictures). This is a small crease in the front lower left corner. There is light corner wear on all corners. There is light ring wear on the back of the jacket. There is a very tiny light tear along the lip (see pictures). Jacket is extremely clean and retains a nice gloss and bright coloring. One of these just sold in March for $192! This one's a monster - don't miss your chance to pick up this rare mandatory funk gem, in beautiful condition! If multiple items are won, we will combine items for a shipping discount. Any questions feel free to email. Item will be securely packaged and shipped via media mail within the US. Shipping outside the US is via USPS First Class International. In regards to a return policy: In the event that this item is not as it is described, we do accept returns.
