Description

Velvet Underground - Velvet Underground & NIco (Verve V6-5008)

1968 stereo LP with airbrushed Emerson torso and intact banana on front cover.

Depending on whether or not you count the lawsuit threat sticker on the back cover as the second pressing, then this is either a 2nd or 3rd issue East Coast Pressing.

"V6-5008 SIDE 1 MGS-558-REV" and "V6-5008 SIDE 2 MGS-559" matrix numbers.

Disc is scuffy with some feelable scratches. It plays through, but there is popping (a fair amount during "Femme Fatale"). Banana appears to have been partially pealed then placed back. 3.5" piece of clear tape at top edge (likely to have repaired a seam split.)

Condition: Disc G+, Cover VG

A note on grading: As a collector, I understand the frustration and disappointment with getting an item that is not in the condition in which it was listed. I grade conservatively, both for yours and my protection. I'd rather under-grade something and have you be pleasantly surprised than deal with an unsatisfied customer. My VG+ are most sellers' EX or VG++.
 
My gradings are: Still Sealed, M-, VG++, VG+, VG, VG-, G.

I ship all my non-sealed records with the disc in an inner sleeve out of the cover to avoid seam splits. All sealed records packaged to avoid seam splits. LPs ship in a 13" x 13" x 1" (or 2") LP mailer with cardboard squares on both sides. Over 15 years experience shipping vinyl.
