Description
This is a no reserve 7 day auction for the original 1970 first UK pressing of Uriah Heep's debut album Very 'Eavy Very 'Umble which was released in June 1970 on the Vertigo Records label in the UK in a laminated gatefold sleeve featuring front man David Byron on the front sleeve almost unrecognizable beneath cobwebs.
This LOT also includes the rare original Vertigo Swirl inner record bag which is seldom seen these days, frequently separated from the LP some fifty five years since its first release.
The LP was issued in August 1970 by Mercury Records in the United States as just Uriah Heep with different sleeve artwork (a centipede type monster) and with the track "Bird of Prey" in place of "Lucy Blues". The album was also reissued by Bronze Records in 1971 after the band signed to that label.
Make no mistake this is the original UK LP first pressing, just how the band intended you to own and enjoy it.

The stunning UK laminated gatefold sleeve is lustrous VG+ and has some signs of wear and tear and laminate separation over its 55 years, the spine has plenty of wear but is intact as are the spine titles and credits, see the many large photographs provided here for the exact gatefold condition.
The original Vertigo LP labels are still breathtaking to this day, good/very good with some foxing evident on one side, might well clean up with some solvent, see the large photos provided. No stickers or handwriting or graffiti.
Heep's debut vinyl LP has had plenty of playing over its hard rock life with various visible signs of use and superficial scuffs here and there but has been stored in a Japanese anti-static cover and remains to this day Uriah Heep's debut and first UK pressing.
The original Vertigo Swirl inner record bag has plenty of foxing evident on one side but is fully intact and has no tears or damage and still blows the mind when lined up with the Vertigo LP label.
