1950's 1960'S STUDIO ACETATES
Most if not all of the studio acetates listed are the only surviving copies. Some are completely unknown, undocumented performances. Some are the final approval copy before cutting a mother. None are dubs.
These are ALL 10 inch, whether 45 or 78RPM.
It was common for many studios to continue using older acetate cutters and 10 inch blanks well into the 1970's.

Two-sided 78rpm C.1955-56 from Shelby Singleton files: S.1 Just Couldn't is Black female that becomes duet, the tune is usually gospel(Dixie Hummingbirds-1944, etc), this is exc secular version. Vocalist(s) in the Carmel Taylor/Varetta Dillard vein. Group has Electric guitar and piano.
S.2 is a take on Tiny Bradshaw's 1952 King of Rippin' & Runnin, with same nice accompaniment. Solo female till near end becomes duet.
