Description

For sale is an unusual and undocumented issue of Little Gigi soul 45 "Take The Bitter With The Sweet/I'm Hurt And So Is My Heart", on the black and gold Soul Records label. Both sides rate NM... super clean and possibly never played. This comes from the estate of a Washington DC DJ who had a lot of promotional soul 45s (see my other auctions for more from his collection up this week), and this must be some early promo of this record, which is usually found on the blue Select Records label. This one has a little more information than the Select issue, including the first initials of the multiple songwriters of each song, as well as a killer black and gold label with a pair of cocktail glasses and straws. I can only guess that a few of these shipped out before the label changed its name to Select and printed another, more common batch. After extensive searching, I have not been able to find reference to this issue anywhere. Scarce.
