Description
One of Cat Stevens finest albums, 'Tea For The Tillerman'. Originally released in the UK by Island Records and in North America on A&M Records in 1970, then re-released by Mobile Fidelity Sound Lab in March of 1982. The first UK pressing on the pink "i" labels is legendary. I've had the good fortune of once owning a copy and I can tell you with complete honesty that the UHQR version is as impressive and in some respects, superior. Of course, subjectivity plays into this but in my opinion, the acoustic guitar(s) in particular sounded more "life-like" and the space between the instruments, more apparent on the UHQR. In any case, there is no doubt that the audio on this low-numbered pressing (#460/5000) is superb and the music is simply timeless.
Condition of UHQR Box: VG+....despite having 2 split corners to the top lid, scuffing and some discoloration on the sides, it is still very acceptable. The bottom portion of the box is Near Mint.
Condition of Technical Specs Manual: Excellent....some age discoloration only.
Condition of Hand-Numbered Certificate: Near Mint....slight bend to one corner.
Condition of Hand-Numbered Sleeve: Near Mint....1" seam split on the bottom edge.
Condition of UHQR Record: Side 1 plays Near Mint(-) almost flawless. Side 2 plays Near Mint(-) as well, with the exception of tracks 4, 5, 6, which because of a couple of small scratches, plays VG to VG++. I assure you that due to the remarkable audio of this UHQR pressing, the minor faults present on the 2nd half of Side 2 will seem insignificant and will in no way diminish your listening pleasure.
