Notes

This record is the first released record in the world to bear The Beatles' name. This UK edition is also the first official publication of the "My Bonnie" single outside of Germany (featuring an English-language intro for the A-side.)

The first UK pressings have orange Polydor “scroll” (white-orange logo banner) labels with a bolded, square-ish font, and with “broad” (long) artist name. The labels also feature “Made In England” & “Recording first published 1961″ notations on the labels, as well as “Mfd. By Deutsche Gramophone (Great Britain) Ltd” rim print. Artists are listed as “Tony Sheridan & The Beatles.” Matrix numbers: Side One: NH66833-A1; Side Two: NH66833-B1.

This 1962 1st pressing of the single and the subsequent 1963 re-issue Tony Sheridan & The Beatles - My Bonnie differ from each other - the reissue label features a different (and noticeably thinner) typeface-- most obvious in the closed ampersand symbol before 'THE BEATLES' in the artist credit. This is explained in more detail at http://yokono.co.uk/collection/beatles/uk/single/single_polydor.html.

All 1st pressings all have a push-out centre, while the 2nd pressing was manufactured with either push-out or solid centres.

No specific promotional pressings are known to have been manufactured for this initial release-- the few promo copies that were distributed were commercial copies with a sticker applied that designated them as "SAMPLE RECORD - NOT FOR SALE", with an additional sticker denoting the "A" side of the record.
