1 sided 12" vinyl record of audio samples / field recordings from New Yorkers.
Private pressing? Limited edition as stated in liner notes, never sold in stores. 

No date of release is listed on the record, but likely released in 1965, as it mentions this was released to mark the 50th anniversary of New York's Women's City Club, an organization founded in 1915.

Cover art by Tracy Sugarman. Quote on front cover is by Walt Whitman.

"Prepared for an exhibition at the Gallery of Modern Art, presented by the women's city club at their 50th anniversary exhibition of art reflecting aspects of life in New York City over the last 50 years"

This record contains different ambient sounds of life in New York City. See the picture below for a  listing of tracks. A fascinating sound collage of life in NYC.

I don't think many of these were made ever and I've never seen another one, don't miss out on this auction. A cool item for NYC historians, field recording enthusiasts and record collectors alike.

CONDITION:  Vinyl is EXCELLENT. Clean, it looks barely played. Few light needle marks visible under direct light, sounds fine on playback.

Cover is EXCELLENT. clean / intact, slight yellowing to edges of cover, but it's very faint. 1 page insert with track listing is clean.
