The Who "Tommy" USA Decca White Label Promo 1969 [Decca DXSW 7205]
According to WhiteFang, THE AUTHORITY on The Who, this is the VERY BEST version of this Rock Classic. I have heard them all (UK Track, later re-issues, etc.). WhiteFang is right. Why? The dynamics, detail and space cannot be matched by any other version. It is not even close.
When you first hear on this WLP Keith Moon’s drums absolutely drive the music during the first track (“Overture”), you will understand why. The hair on the back of your neck will stand up. And it keeps getting better. You will not be able to lift the needle off the record.
A Near Mint WLP just sold on eBay for $285. At this price, this The Who “TOMMY” WLP is a real bargain.
VINYL: The vinyl is in NEAR MINT condition. Playback is wonderful. Record labels are NEAR MINT.
SLEEVE: The 6-panel gatefold sleeve does have wear, mostly at the edges. That is why the EX- rating. The front, back and tri-fold sides are in EX+ condition (some ring wear). Outstanding for a 45 year old record. Both vinyl discs will be sent inside MFSL record sleeves.
BOOKLET: The limited edition booklet is NEAR MINT with no tears.
ORIGINAL INNER SLLEVES: Amazingly, these are in strong EX+ condition!
