I collect and occasionally sell the odd record.  I've seen and bought records people have graded as Near Mint, and in my opinion don't even grade out as a VG++.  
Of course grading is subjective; if I'm going to sell a record, I'll err on the side of being conservative.
Up for auction is this very nice Velvet Underground record; The Velvet Underground and Nico.  This is a solid VG+ Gatefold Cover and Vinyl.  I believe this is a version 7 with the black label and Silver T from 1975.  US Pressing.  If you think differently, please let me know.  There are so many versions of this album out there...
