Product/Provenance
“The Time” is the debut album by The Time.
No songwriting credits are given on the album, however the album was written, recorded and produced by Prince under the guise Jamie Starr, the record contained little input from band members other than Morris Day, who provided lead vocals on all songs.
Only one track, After Hi School, did not contain writing input by Prince, although he performed all the instruments on the track.
The album marked the first time Prince was involved in a full album other than his own, he continued in this vein of supporting other artists in conjunction with his own work for the rest of his career, This was the beginning of a profound & prolific output of material which is still today unmatched by anybody else.
Condition
Sleeve - Excellent, no rips splits or tears, the sleeve has suffered from edge wear attributed to storage, despite this the sleeve is firm with straight lines, a spotless front and back make up for the edge wear. Please review the photos.
Record - Mint, Beautiful condition, very rare for a record of this age from 1981. A lovely clean and clear surface, please take the time to review the photos.
Labels - Side 1 N/Mint, Side 2 Mint, no writing, marks or spindle split.
A genuine classic that set Prince off on his career of working with other artists. The Mint Vinyl is a gem, it very rarely comes to market in this condition, check other vendors & Discogs as you will not find PrinceInvestments quality anywhere else. Auction starting at £24
