The experience of buying records on Ebay is ruined if, when they arrive, you discover that they are either not in the condition stated or have been damaged in the post! For this reason I describe all my items in detail, and only post using strong sturdy packaging. They are also from a non-smoking and pet-free home.

Plays 'You Just Haven't Earned It Yet Baby' on A-Side

This mispressing has become very well known amongs Smiths collectors but is rarely actually seen or offered for sale. Although the original plans were to release 'You Just Haven't Earned It Yet Baby' as the A-side, these were reportedly scrapped in favour of 'Shoplifters of the World Unite'. Tantalisingly for collectors, some copies of the apparently-standard 12" were mispressed with the original track listing and were put into circulation, some suggest deliberately, by Rough Trade. Upon first inspection these mispressed 12"s appear identical to the standard releases, bearing the same catalogue number and packaging. If you hold the vinyl next to a standard copy, however, you can just about see that the A-side plays a different track due to the tiny differences in the groove patterns. In addition, early copies of the UK 12" release were sold with a promotional plastic bag which had the Elvis artwork on one side and the word 'Shoplifter' in bold on the other. These official merchandise items were very limited in number and many would have been discarded, becoming the collectors items that they are today. This mispressed 12" is sold with its promotional carrier bag; both record and carrier bag being in superb collectable condition (see below).The vinyl and labels are in near mint condition, with no discernable marks on the highly-glossy vinly or labels. The original pink inner sleeve is also intact and undamaged, with no splits or signs of wear. The outer sleeve is also in an impressive near mint condition, with strong sharp edges and spine and no noticeable corner wear. There is neither any writing, splitting or damage anywhere. The promotional carrier bag also has no marks or damage; having been neatly folded to fit inside the record sleeve as these were sold. A truly outstanding example of this very rare and collectable item. Please do consider paying the extra 70p for tracked postage since there is nothing that can be done to find out what happened if the parcel is lost when standard postage is chosen. Shipping costs are greater for overseas buyers, but still subsidised and very good value; please check prices by using the options above or feel free to ask.
