Description

A 1st issue original from May 1971 on the UK Decca label around 6 months after general release. Matrix -4W/-3W. Stampers 1-CU/1-IM. Heavy set vinyl - not the later flimsy stuff. The record comes housed in a front laminated, purple bordered, original cover printed by the Clout and Baker. Original May 1971 '5-71' blue and white Decca inner sleeve. The labels hold the incorrect publishing date of 1970 - they should in fact show 1968/69/70. 100% original and 100% complete. What's even better is this copy is fantastically well preserved. 
Vinyl (Ex+) As you can see from the pics this copy has only seen very light use and is shiny like new. Under close inspection I can only make out a couple of ultra light marks on either side, but nothing remotely troublesome. A thorough testing from beginning to end reveals an, at least, EXCELLENT+ level of playback. Intros and inbetweens are silent and the audio comes across with great clarity and no interference at all - even 'Love In Vain' is close to perfect. The actual audio quality is top notch and manages to resolve every last nuance of the performance. From the shouts in the crowd to the high pitch wailing of the P.A. system - perfect reproduction! The early copies definitely were the best!
Cover (Ex+) Again, it has clearly been looked after carefully down the years. There's some light ageing to the rear, but difficult to imagine finding a much better example than this. Laminate lift is almost non-existent and the spine is 100% intact. Overall the cover has maintained excellent rigidity and retains an almost new feel to it. Awesome!
Inner (Ex) No splits and only the very lightest of ageing.
