Description
Hello and welcome to one of my auctions! I am a record collector for over 15 years now and I think it’s about time to sell a couple records to make some room and pass it on to another collector. This week’s auctions feature my Beatles, Rolling Stones and some progressive records that are form my own personal collection, so here we go!
On offer, an extremely rare first U.K. EXPORT pressing of The Rolling Stones – Get Yer Ya Ya’s Out on the BLUE BOXED Decca label, with the GERMAN cat. no. SLK 16670/P. There are only 2000 records pressed in the U.K. with this catalogue number for Germany. Back in 1970, when this record was first released, Telefunken – Decca (the record company who pressed all Decca Records during the 1960’s and early 1970’s) had some problems with keeping up with the demand. So they contracted Decca England to press a small batch of this new Rolling Stones record.
The record is in EX minus condition, there are a couple non-sounding hairlines only. The labels are in VG++ condition, there are some spindle marks with very slight wear along the spindle holes on both sides. The matrix endings on this record are 1W / 1W.
The cover is in VG++ condition, there are some thumbnails on the opening edge, there are two very tiny holes in the upper corners ( I think the previous owner has tagged this cover to his wall or something) and there is a scratch in the laminate on the back, but further this cover looks great, no writing, no rips or tears or other damage.
The record comes with an original Decca “STEREO” inner sleeve (one with 4 blue squares on each side) , which is in VG+ condition. Besides a little age browning, some handling wear on the opening edge and a “dog-eared” corner, this inner sleeve looks great. Worth mentioning is the fact that this inner sleeve has the date “7-70” in the lower left hand corner, indicating that this is a very first (and only) pressing of this record.
This is an extremely rare, if not impossibly rare FIRST U.K. EXPORT pressing of the Rolling Stones’ Get Yer Ya Ya’s Out Album. Although not in a dream mint condition, this is a very rare opportunity to own this particular EXPORT pressing meant for Germany. Just how often do you see a U.K. copy of this album, carrying the German catalogue number? This is a real must have for all Rolling Stones fans, in order to complete a life time collection!
