Description

An original 1969 stereo 'BIG HITS' on the UK Decca label. Matrix 3W/4W. Stampers 1-UK/1-UC- both sides from the 1st mother on this matrix cut. The heavy set vinyl comes housed in an original late 60's cover with attached photo pages - and the format peephole on the rear. Also included is the original blue and white Decca inner sleeve. So, 100% genuine and 100% complete.
Vinyl (Ex/Ex-) In great condition and has only seen light use. Under close inspection I can only make out a few very light marks per side - nothing remotely troublesome though. A thorough testing from beginning to end reveals a mostly EXCELLENT level of playback. Intros and inbetweens are nice and quiet and the audio comes across with great clarity. Do bear in mind that so so many of these greatest hits LPs have been played to death over the years. Finding a little abused copy is not as easy as you think. It plays clean even into the perennially played to death 'Satisfaction'. Interference is minimal and infrequent. The super fussy tracks like 'Lady Jane' & 'As Tears Go By' play nice and clean - which is unusual and a sign it has only seen careful use. You might pick out a few crackles in a couple of isolated moments per side. But it's, otherwise, a very impressive player.
Cover (Ex) A beautiful 60's original gatefold - and many will not be looking this tidy by this point in time. Very clean and flat surfaces with little sign of creasing. Really good colour retention - no sign of fade. The interior is in excellent order - much better than what typically surfaces. All pages are fully intact and stapled in [unusual]. No signs of heavy thumbing or tears - really good looking. Very little edge wear to speak of and the opening panel retains great rigidity with a nice crisp edge. The spine is 100% intact. Overall the cover retains excellent rigidity.
 Inner (Ex-) Has avoided most of the usual ageing you tend to find. No splits.
