Description

An original 1st stereo press of BB on the UK Decca label. Matrix 1K/3K. The heavy-set vinyl comes housed in an original G&L stereo cover with 'patents pending' [the very 1st design]. Also included is the original Decca inner sleeve dated to 1968. So, 100% genuine and 100% complete. Sweeet!
Vinyl (Ex+) In lovely condition and has only seen light use. Under close inspection I can only make out a few very light marks per side - nothing remotely troublesome. A thorough testing from beginning to end reveals a mostly/predominantly EXCELLENT+ level of playback. This really is a top-level copy..and within the best few copies I've witnessed. The audio is to die for....once you've heard a copy like this there's no going back - ha! Intros and inbetweens are very nice and quiet and the audio comes across with amazing clarity. Crank it right up to max - and all you'll get is perfectly resolved clean audio. Barely any sign of background at all. You might detect a few minor crackles in a couple of isolated moments -- but this is one supremely well preserved copy. Even in all those acoustic low-key passages...just clean and clear. Highly recommended..
Cover (Ex-) Might grade higher on first appearance, but there is one detractor - the spine so read in full. A super looking cover lovely and shiny front and back with minimal ageing by and large. There's barely a crease on the front and just one top left on the rear. The interior is superb very nice and flat and unmarked - and there's no sign of ageing or foxing...surfaces are perfectly smooth. Edge wear is mostly light. And then we get to the spine - which is the one let down on this cover. The top half is ok, but the bottom half appears to have lost the lamination. And hence it's exhibiting wear and discolouration [surface level - it has not worn through at all]. Some of the text fully legible, but some is getting partially obscured by the wear. Shame, as without that, it would have been the total package. But let's be honest there's more than enough, here, to get excited about...
Inner (Vg+) Light ageing. No splits. Nice!
