Description
LK 4605 An original UK pressing from [1964] on the Decca label. Stampers 2B-DM/2B-DK. Matrix 1A/3A.Whilst not a 1st pressing from the week of release this LP bares a very early matrix number and the name for track 4 side 1 is the all important 'MONA'. Very shortly after release this track was renamed 'Honest i do' and all subsequent pressings hold the revised track name. Vinyl weight [145grams]. The LP comes housed in an original flipback MacNeill sleeve.
Vinyl (Ex) Has survived the years very well in deed. A close inspection reveals nothing more than a couple of very light marks on either side [that do not sound on playback]. A thorough testing from beginning to end reveals an EXCELLENT level of playback. Intros and inbetweens are nice and quiet and the audio comes across with very little interference [just some very low-level static in one or two of the quieter sections]. In fact I can't recall a better rendition of this LP - the sound is bold and clear - a real testament to the quality of manufacture.
Cover (VG) These covers were famously flimsey and this hints at why the original owner taped up the spine and openings. Whilst this has left some tape residue it has actually helped to preserve it over the years. There are no nasty rips and the spine, whilst sustaining a 1inch split, is otherwise entirely intact. The text is still 100% readable which is quite unusual. The flipbacks are all perfectly intact and any ageing is clearly visable from the photos.
