VERY EARLY IN THE RUN

Cover - VG++. ERNEST J DAY LAMINATED COVER. As you can see from the pictures the gatefold cover is in amazing condition. The lined marking on the front cover isn't a mark, it has just shown up due to the lighting in the photo that some of the laminate has come away. It is not a scratch or proper damage and effect the actual cover at all, only the way it looks under very bright light! This is again the same case for small bits on the edges. This is a detailed examination however as I know this record is for serious collectors. Only light laminate creasing on the sleeve, see laminate condition in photos, no writing, names, stickers or tears, in great shape for 48 years! I would say this is more near to excellent than very good.


Please note that this album is complete and original 1st UK pressing and is priced for its rarity and attraction to collectors.

Record condition - VG+ Overall Great copy, clear AUDIO with no skips or jumps playgraded by me personally, would grade as VG+ condition for audio , here is a real beauty ( some light lines AND less than 5 or 6 ghostly surface hairline scratches across both records, which don't affect playback) some static in quieter passages which may improve with a professional clean.

Record 1 -
Side A I would describe as EX- and looks incredibly clean. It is very quiet on the run in and run out which is so great when starting a double album. There is a tiny bit of static at low levels during the quieter parts but what's great about this album is that there is so much energy and volume that the listening isn't compromised even by the tiniest of hairline scratches, to which there is the least amount on SIDE A. Grooves look fantastic, it plays great and labels as you can see are lovely.
Side D Is very similar to SIDE A, the vinyl looks EX and might even be in better condition. Under light it looks as though it looks perfect but if you look really really closely with artificial light you can see a small blemish, which may even go after a clean. This doesn't effect play AT ALL and this side sounds great, again with just some very low static only even in some parts. The label to the record as you can see in the images has a slight scuff on the edge but it's really minor and doesn't take away from the look.
Side B - VG+ This side has the same gloss as the other record but also 2 noticeable hair lines on the surface. Luckily they don't effect play and are over tracks that have alot of instrumentation so you can't even hear whether they would effect the listening experience even if it could. There is also an extremely faint hairline on track one but this can only be seen in strong light and doest effect play. After listening to this record it still sounds amazing despite my intricate explanation. The grooves are great and there is static more often than the last record but at a low level. Still sounds amazing just noticeable marks compared to the first 2 sides.
Side C - VG+ Similar to Side B but there is just one very thin scratch on the run out, hardly noticeable and on track one there is a cm long scuff on the surface that doesn't effect play apart from maybe a rise in static. This side is a tiny bit more static ridden than the others but only in the silent parts of the music, it still looks great and matches with the other sides - again this is just me being detailed for the collector.

Personally I think this is a great great example of a very sought after record. I was very excited that I got hold of it and my winning bid of £150 was when I obtained it five years ago. Now I would say after comparing it against others for sale across ebay and Discogs that it will be worth near to £200 but I'll leave that upto the bidders.
