They were a blessing to many people. The members of the original group were: the late Welman Gosnell, lead; Riley Smith, baritone; Bill Penley, first tenor; and the late Clyde Williams, one of the best bass singers there has ever been. His son, Warren Williams, is following in his footsteps. The pianist for this group was Aurelia Ramsey. The present Friendly Five is greatful for the opportunity to present to you this album, featuring songs that will provide comfort, assurance, and the knowledge of eternal life. If you like gospel music you will especially like the songs the Friendly Five have arranged for you on this album. You will appreciate the smooth and mellow sound of this group. The members of this group are: Gaye Cole, lead; Wayne Parris first tenor; Tommy Davis, baritone; and Warren Williams, bass, also a Baptist minister. The musicians are: Jimmy Bailey, piano; Luther Tweed, lead guitar; and Tommy Davis, bass guitar. The Friendly Five are growing more popular every year, and we hope they will continue singing the gospel. This is a fine group of young men, who sing in the spirit of God.
