LP VINYL RECORD ALBUM-1ST PRESS-THE FALL-LIVE-'TOTALE'S TURNS' 1980. Condition is Used. Dispatched with Royal Mail 2nd Class.

Sleeve is great, other than a touch of wear where it's been taken on and off the shelf. Spine, top and bottom have no marks or splits. Original polythene inner sleeve still included. Vinyl sound great but has some visible marks and scratches. On my listen through after cleaning I paid close attention and couldn't hear them at all.

This period of The Fall, from Rowche Rumble up to when they left Beggars Banquet, is prjme Mark E Smith Fall. This LP, their third, captures their chaotic but mesmerising live performances in such glorious jet setting locations as Preston, Doncaster and Bradford. This is The Fall warts and all (some would ask, is there any other kind?) with MES berating the audience ("Are you still doing what you did two years ago? Yes? Well don't make a career out of it")  and his band members ("Will you lot f***ing get it together and stop showing off!") and giving the crowd useful local information ("Last orders? Half past ten.").

But alongside that, this captures The Fall in their real element. The wild, uncontained energy and unpredictability that's too often lost in the studio - because I didn't have the singles or the first two albums, this was for years the definitive version for me of songs like Rowche Rumble and Fiery Jack, and I still often mentally introduce the band with words "Bang f***ing bang, The MIghty Fall".

They couldn't play, they couldn't sing, they looked awful. But they were absolutely magnificent.

That Man No Xmas for John Quays ********** All records will be posted in Defendapack Twistwrap double thickness record mailers and with the disc *outside* the sleeve and protective bubblewrap, so there will be no new corner damage or holes in the edges caused by the LP sliding inside the sleeve in transit. All existing wear, tear and damage done to the sleeve when I was a teenager and didn't think the state of my records was any concern of anyone else other than myself, will be either described or will be clearly photographed. ********** As a personal note: this is my own vinyl collection. I'm downsizing, so saying a ceremonial goodbye to my LPs and singles that have been part of my life for the best part of 50 years. I'm not a dealer: these records were bought to listen to - in many cases to listen to A LOT. And they've been with me through goods times and bad times. I'm a very careful owner, so they're mostly in really condition for their age (wish I could say that for other things), but none of them are in mint condition. As part of saying goodbye, I'm first cleaning them using a DISCO-ANTISTAT RECORD CLEANER, and to be honest they have never sounded this good - in some cases they're better than the day I bought them. Then I'm giving them a last play through, using a brand new stylus, paying attention to any surface noise, audible scratches etc. I'm noticing that vinyl really took a plunge in quality around 1990 :-) both in weight and sound. Because of this last play through, I can honestly tell you what they sound like after a clean. This is a slow process - about ten records a week - so please save my ebay selling page and see if anything else you're interested in crops up: having been raised under the wing of John Peel, it's a very eclectic collection. **********
