Description
The Fairlanes "Writing This Letter/Playboy"
This is a US vinyl single by The Fairlanes from 1961 on Continental 1001. The Fairlanes are an early white doo wop group started by Rich Kaye. They had different members through the years. They are still active and play oldies at their shows. They used the name 'Fairlanes' because it was the only car name that hadn't been used as a group name at that time. They only recorded 7 singles on 7 different labels.( of course they might not all be the same band ). Thye had no albums. Continental records was loacated at 1359 Oaks Street, San Francisco, 17, California. Both songs were written by Ramona King. This is their rarest single and it books for $300 in Goldmine price guides.
Condition : Record : VG+ / Label : M-
The vinyl looks VG+ and it plays VG+. There are no scuffs at all. The labels are perfect. It comes in a plain brown sleeve.

I started collecting records in 1966. I started selling in Goldmine in 1985. I now sell records at all Northwest record conventions : Portland, Seattle, Tacoma, Eugene, Grants Pass, and Canby. And at Crossroads Music in Portland, Oregon. My records are from a no smoking and no pets home.
Packaging :
I take great care during packaging and do each one personally. I use hand cut cardboard, which I get from a trucking company. (It's so thick that you will save it and use it again.) I always remove the record from the picture sleeve and tape them inside a clear plastic record sleeve. All packages are marked in red : "Fragile Record" on both sides.
Postage :
You have to pay for the postage. So, I pre-weigh each package and you pay the exact amount the post office charges. There are no handling charges. This record will weigh 7 ounces when ready to ship. US winners can figure out your own postage costs for US First Class or Media Mail. I will send it through Paypal and you will get an email with the tracking number. Overseas buyers must use First Class Mail International. After I send it, I will send you an email with the date I mailed it and the US customs number. (Buyers from Italy will assume all risks for shipping to your country.) I will send your record as soon as you pay. (same day if before 2 PM and next day if after 2 PM, Monday thru Saturday) I will combine postage if you win more than one record. Please wait for my invoice with all of your winnings in one package.
