Description

The Clash London Calling LP 1980 vintage, VG, "tear . . down . . the . . walls"  msg on runout rings.
I bought this early in 1980, but it did not come with the inner sleeves containing lyrics and pictures. inner sleeves are plain white paper, and are in remarkable shape considering this record was played more than a few times back in the day. Neither does it identify bonus track Train In Vain on the back cover, record label, or by etching on side 4 ring.  But trust me, it's there.  Each side does have etching of words "tear/ down/ the/ walls" on sides 1-4 respectively.  I never noticed these etching(s) before, and think it's kind of funny in light of punk movement's noted antipathy towards a certain band from Cambridge that concurrently had a double album in the charts during  1979/80, that coincidently was also under part of the CBS Inc corporate family.
All sides sound great, with minimal extraneous noise and only light marks that do not affect play.  There are light ring marks on front/back cover. Spine has some wear but band/title and record co. name read clearly.  I think it would be pushing it to rate this as VG+ considering it was a favorite of mine and got a fair amount of play.  Listened to it last week though, and it still has lots of life, especially at high volume.  Also have a CD copy that satisfies me, and so, am willing to part with this album.
Will ship to lower 48 only via USPS Media Mail.
