Description
The Beatles 1966 release of Yesterday and Today US version. I understand collectors will know this album as 'The Butcher Album'. There is alot of history to this album. Essentially, when it was released it had a different cover which caused uproar in the US and Capitol instead of printing new covers for the first press albums which had already been produced, instead ordered large stickers to go over the front. These albums come in various states:
1st State - Very rare covers which didn't have a cover on 2nd State - A cover with the sticker still on the sleeve 3rd State - A cover which has had the sticker removed
This is a 2nd State version with the sticker full intact with no effort at all to remove it. Unfortunately, the sleeve is damaged and split down two sides. I've not tried to repair it in any way. if it wasn't for this damage, I understand this album would be worth in excess of £1,000.
The vinyl is in beautiful condition and looks barely used (if at all).
This album have been with the family for a long time and belonged to my mother who was a Beatles nut. She had many albums, but these were part of her special collection which she didn't play and was collecting. I'm now selling them as I need the money for a house deposit which I know she'd have liked. More importantly though, it would be nice for them to go to another Beatles fan to look after for future generations.
I would prefer the albums stayed together if possible. I live in a village called Overton (RG25) if anyone would like to view them before bidding. I've been advised not to post outside of the UK so UK bidders only please.
