Description

The Beatles Yesterday and Today is their eleventh album, released in 1966 by Capitol Records.  The album is remembered primarily for the original and controversial  'Butcher'  cover featuring the band dressed in white coats and covered with decapitated baby dolls along-side pieces of meat.       This is a 2nd State cover with a paste-over sheet showing a photo of the band posed around an old steamer trunk.  Due to many owners attempting to peel-off and reveal the original 1st State image hidden beneath,  copies with the unpeeled paste-on cover  'intact'  are very rare and valuable.  These can be identified with Ringo's black V-neck shirt in alignment under the word  'Today'.       3rd State covers have the 2nd State sheet removed to reveal the Butcher image.  (Third State is the  'most common'  and least valuable, as people continue to peel-off the second state covers.)       The album cover is in very good+ condition.  The vinyl is in excellent condition.  Capitol Records,  #ST2553, Stereo.  Thank you for looking.  (Grading Order:  Mint, Near Mint, Excellent, Very Good+, Very Good, Good, etc...)
