Description
Based on the criteria established on a blog post on goldminemag, I would rate the Vinyl as a VG+ and the case as VG. Since I'm not an experienced collector I cannot say for certain, so please understand this is my best amateur estimate. When viewed in raking light I cannot find any scuffs or scrapes on the surface of the discs. It plays flawlessly on my Rega Planar 3 table. The corners of the slipcase are slightly dented, and there is a scuff on the top of the case. All the materials shown are included. There is a fold-out poster, Japanese liner notes and 4 headshots. There is no "obi" which is the over-cover advertising leaf.
If you dig into the details on this release you will learn there are a few marks that distinguish the 1982 Japanese release from the 1986 release. 1986 is not printed anywhere on the record, but the label on the back with the price, etc, is in different locations. I have made my judgment based on forum discussions that indicate I have a print consistent with the 1986 releases. People seem to be split on which release (1982 / 1986) has better sound, but either way, the Japanese pressings are highly regarded. The text printed on the records is YEX-7**-D. The four different sides have 09, 10, 11, 12 in place of the **, respectively (i.e. side D, shown in pictures, is YEX-712-D). The text on the sleeve is EAS-67157・58.
The records have been stored vertically in protective sleeves outside of the cardboard slipcase, all packaged in plastic. On that subject it seems to me that one or both of protective inner sleeves are not original, as they do not match. The records will ship in a similar fashion, outside of the cardboard case. Any questions please ask. Hank
