Description

Here we have a copy of the famous and rare bootleg Beatles recording known as the Black Album. (The cover is just black with the name "The Beatles" raised, just like the original White Album.) This is a set of three records, taken from the Get Back sessions. It's full of studio chatter, snatches of songs, rehearsal, spontaneous jams, and a few demos of Beatles songs too. This is a fascinating document of the Beatles at work in the studio near the end of their career as a band. Highlights include George's demo of "All Things Must Pass", which ended up on his first solo album; and Paul teaching the others his new song "Let It Be". Though there's plenty of music here, much of it is disorganized jamming or rehearsals of half-written songs with mumbled lyrics. Quite a difference from the extremely polished recordings we're used to hearing from them!
This set sounds just fine and plays without skips. All three records are in great shape. The jacket is whole and looks pretty good, but is coming unglued on one side and is a bit warped in places. It's fine, but certainly not perfect. Included is the poster, which is made to look like the White Album poster. On one side are lots of photos, on the other is some studio chatter printed out for some reason known only to the person who produced it.
Please! Do not ask me to end the auction early or sell off Ebay! Also, if you win but do not pay, I will report you!
