Description
Artist: The Beatles
Title: The Beatles Beat
Label: Odeon Cat: O 83 692 (Mono)
Year: 1964 First Press (Germany)
Vinyl Condition: G+ (Please read notes carefully)
Sleeve Condition: VG
Notes: This is a very rare first mono press on the Odeon Green label. This one is possibly even rarer than others as their is a label variation to the Rights Society credits and I can't find in listed in the reference databases. Now for condition - the vinyl looks Good with lots of scratches but actually plays Very Good with remarkably few issues - little or no surface noise and a couple of clicks only. However, The vinyl has a significant warp (more of a ripple actually). On my set up it plays through fine but the arm looks like it will fly away at any time! - so you need to be aware. I know some people can straighten out warped records so if you are able to do that you have a bargain! I have seen this press for sale in average condition for over 100 euros. The sleeve has a little wear, a few laminate creases and some discolouration on the back but it remains solid. It comes with the original Odeon company inner sleeve. Matrix:
XBEX 50047-1, XBEX 50048-1
All albums have been play tested on my Pro-ject Debut III with standard Ortofon cartridge. I don't often sell albums that are graded below VG - usually only when they are quite rare examples. With albums of G+ or less grading which are typically very well played and scratched, I have found it impossible to assess whether a scratch results in a click or a jump as it depends what set up you have. I will still make every effort to point out where feelable scratches are present.
I will happily combine postage costs - if buying more than one album please wait for an invoice before paying. Please see my other listings.
