I have collected records since I was very young, however Iincreasingly I have realised that I have far too many, and soI have been slowly trying to rationalise my extensive collection over the years, I have sold many major rarities over the years, from major BEATLES and 60s rarities, through PUNK and PROG ROCK, CLASSICAL and BLUES. Basically I've had alot of very rare records and in dribs and drabs have sold them off. I've never had negative feedback, and had many repeat customers.
I will only post completely insured and tracked.

THE BEATLES I Want To Hold Your Hand SOLID CENTRE ORIOLE CONTRACT! MEGARARE! With unheard of A-side Variant! Please read!

Here we have one of the centre-pieces of any collection! An original 1963 Solid Centre Oriole Contract pressing of The Beatles "I Want To Hold Your Hand" b/w "This Boy" (PARLOPHONE R 5084). But also with an unheard of "no periods NCB A-side label"!

I'll start by explaining the solid centre contract nature of this record,for those who may not know,and then goon to explain the A-side label variant...

In 1963 as THE BEATLES wererevving upto releasing I Want THold Your Hand, Beatlemainia was hitting fever pitch, and was about to take over America as well! Like their previous singles there were advance orders, but unlike any of their previous releases there were so many advance orders,and projected demand, that EMI realised in an unprecedented twist, that it's pressing plants would not be able to copewith all of the demand, so they subcontacted limited amounts of the pressing duties to DECCA and to a smaller extent ORIOLE! Of the oriole pressings almost every one were pressed with 4-prong centres, just a real handful have ever surfaced with SOLID CENTRES, and this is one of them. EMI also pressed a few solid centres of it's own a few years later (also unbelievably rare!)But this is the only SOLID CENTRE of I Want ToHold Your Hand pressed in 1963! A thing of wonder that all but a handful of the most devoted (or incredibly lucky) Beatles collectors are missing from their collection!

The standard Oriole pressings are notable by their DEADWAX stampers codes, but also the fact that their central four-prong removable centre is slightly smallerand textured. Here on this mythical SOLID CENTRE you can see clearly that,notonly is the centre textredbut there is a double ring ore or less where the punch out would be, where the rough meets the smoother main label.

What makes this the only copy I have ever seen like this is the A-side label. In Bruce Spizer's essential , and extensively researched book "BEATLES FOR SALE ON PARLOPHONE RECORDS", he states "Most of theB-side labels with 'N.B.C.'and no 'Sold in U.K.' text reviewed for this book match the description of the A-side 01B(ii) variation .(However)There is is also a B-side variation with 'NCB' without periods, 01B(vi). It is not known if an A-side variation exists without the periods"...

Well here you go, look no further! Here is just such a copy (the only copy I've ever owned) with NCBon the A-side, but without periods! What an oddity this record is, and I can (almost) guarantee that you reading this don't have a copy quite like this! (If you do,congratulations, you are also very lucky/commited! But I have been through every solid ventre I Want To Hold Your Hand catalogued on Popsike, and I can confirm that copies with "N.C.B." are few and far between in an already very scarce field, but there has never been another copy featuring an A-side with "NCB" with no periods, this is the only one ever to have surfaced! VERY RARE!)

So there you go, this is an extremely rare record, that I've never seenanother copy like,and that's it's explination! Here's it's condition and deadwax information etc.

Record Condition: Visibly VG,a dusting of light surface hirlines etc, but nothing significant at all, and the audio is very strong as you'd imagine!

Labels Conditon: VG realy nice labelswith just a bit of rub, but generally very nice and clean, and completely legible, a name has been written in ball-point pen which is hard to capture, but is visible when angled into strong light,otherwise it doesn't really show up against the rich black EMI labels! There is a slight sign of rubbing around the central spndle holes,though certainly not excessively, and the labels are completely free from tears, stickers or residue.
