Description
An original 1st issue of Revolver on the UK Parlophone label from whilst still charting in the fall of 1966. Matrix 2/3. Please note the labels still show Dr.Robert in abbreviated form - this is indicative of 1st issue. It was soon changed on Lennon's request and all later copies use 'Doctor'. The heavy set vinyl comes housed in an original Garrod & Lofthouse cover. Also included is the original white inner sleeve. So, 100% genuine and 100% complete.
Vinyl (Ex/Ex+) Despite having seen a moderate level of use this LP is in remarkably fine form. Under close inspection we could only make out a couple of light marks - nothing remotely troublesome. A thorough testing from beginning to end reveals an, at least, EXCELLENT level of playback. Intros and inbetweens are nice and quiet and the audio comes across with great clarity. These early Beatles pressings have quality written all over them - fantastic sound reproduction and difficult to imagine bettering... Interference is minimal. All we could detect was light static in one of track -'Here,There'....And that really is all....It's certainly a very fine player indeed.
Cover (Ex+) Wowzers - wouldn't it be nice if all Beatles copies survived like this - unbelievable! This is certainly the best copy I've seen - I would say. The front is beautifully white and shiny like a mirror - just the tiniest amount of sticker residue in the top-right. The rear is in equally fine form and it is often, here, that a few sins are being hidden! But not on this copy - it is only exhibiting super-light handling...getting close to perfect. The spine is 100% intact and overall the cover retains superb rigidity.... A bit of a one-off I'd imagine.
