Description

A 1st pressing of Revolver with the alternate TNK mix on UK Parlophone. Matrix 2/1 ..i.e side 2 has the "1" and alternate mix. Another early identifier is the track "Dr.Robert" which is abbreviated on the label. The heavy set vinyl comes housed in an original Ernest J Day cover - Early copies of Revolver tended to be housed in EJ Day, rather than G&L. Also included is the original plain inner with 'patents applied for'. So, this copy is not only 100% genuine, but also 100% complete...And even better it is an absolute BEAUTY!!
Vinyl (Ex/Ex+) So, finding a top early copy of Revolver is a hard enough task in itself...But the first-cut with the TNK alt mix is an even bigger ask. This copy is by far the best copy I've ever got my hands on [by quite some margin]. The vinyl has clearly been cared for and has only seen light use. Under close inspection there are 3 or 4 marks either side mostly light in nature - and nothing troublesome. A thorough testing from beginning to end reveals an, at least, EXCELLENT level of playback. Intros and inbetweens are nice and quiet and the audio comes across with great clarity. No complaints at all here - and this is a solid grading..NO HYPE. Interference is minimal. All we detected was the lightest touch of static in a couple of isolated moments. It really is a very impressive rendition for even a standard original copy - let alone the TNK mix version. A bit of a one-off in my opinion.
Cover (Ex) Nice! This cover has clearly had an owner who looks after his/her records. Revolver covers don't often turn up looking this good. A lovely white shiny front with barely no creasing at all. Yes, there's a touch of ageing creeping in at the outer edges, but I'm being picky with that. The rear is in equally good condition and way better than average. No nasty hidden marks or creasing - not perfect, but certainly way way better than many examples. Edge wear is super light and that spine is 100% intact. Overall the cover retains excellent rigidity and has that feel of a newish cover. A really great example.
Inner (Ex-) No splits, but light ageing.
