Description
Revolver on the UK Parlophone label from around the time of release in 1966. Matrix -2/-3. Stampers 3-GGA/4-GOA. A really nice early copy with the original 'DR.Robert' abbreviation on the label. The record comes housed in an original Garrod & Lofthouse cover and includes the original inner sleeve 'patents applied for'. Don't miss out here - this is the best rendition I've ever heard Revolver....it really is astonishingly well preserved.
Cover (Ex) The front is shiny like new and the back is completely free of ageing. I wouldn't imagine there are many in this kind of condition. The only thing that stops it getting Ex+ is a couple of tiny biro marks in the 'R' on the rear - see photo. Edge wear is almost non-existent and the spine is totally intact. Overall the cover still maintains perfect rigidity.
Vinyl (Ex+) This is simply one of the nicest slabs of vinyl I've ever seen. It's shiny like new and has clearly only seen very minimal use - which is extremely unusual. A thorough testing from beginning to end reveals an EXCELLENT+ level of playback. Never have a I heard Revolver sound this good....it's an absolute corker. There's practically no background interference at all. Intros and inbetweens are perfectly silent...just listen to the start of Taxman..Unbelievable! Under close inspection there are a couple of tiny almost invisible marks - one of which causes two crackles at the end of Submarine. But that really is about it. This truly is a final upgrade ....
Inner Sleeve (Vg+) A bit of ageing but no markings. 1 X one inch side split.
