The Beatles - Love Me Do - 50th Anniversary 7" Single - WITHDRAWN
You are bidding on a copy of the now infamous withdrawn 50th anniversary issue of The Beatles Love Me Do 7" single. This was intended to be released as a limited edition for the single's 50th anniversary on Fri 5th October 2012, but EMI recalled all copies already sent to retailers on Wed 3rd October because of a 'fault' with the pressing. However a few copies have managed to get out (mainly pre-orders etc).
The single itself has the version of Love Me Do with Andy White drumming on it and not the 'Original Single Version' as advertised. Also there is a label typo with the single's catalogue number on the B-side. Possibly Apple were none too chuffed about this and ordered the recall.
After Amazon let me down with my pre-order I frantically tried to source the single by various means but have ended up with more than one copy - one of which is up for auction here.
The single itself and heavy duty card sleeve are mint condition/unplayed. I'm starting the auction at the single's RRP - £5.00, with no reserve. Single will be packaged extremely well in a 7" single mailer and sent recorded delivery. UK bidders only please. I'm hoping this ends up at the good home of a fellow Beatle manaic :)
