Item Description & Condition:
’LOVE ME DO/PS I LOVE YOU’ was The Beatles debut UK Single, released by Parlophone on the Red with Silver printed Parlophone Label.
Released by Parlophone, UK on 5 October 1962 – nearly 50 years ago - this FIRST ISSUE VINYL 45 is on the DISTINCTIVE RED Parlophone Label with Silver Printed text, with ‘The Parlophone Co Ltd....’ label rim and With ‘Recording First Published 1962’, With ‘Ardmore & Beechwood Ltd’ publishing credits, there are two versions of this Parlophone Label, one version is WITH the Made in Gt Britain label text, this version is **WITHOUT** the ‘Made In Gt. Britain’ label text.
Both sides of the record label is in Very Good Plus condition, there is no fading to the Red background or the Silver Printed Text, there are just a few light centre spindle lines, and the letters carr written in ink on the side 2 label.
Side 1 matrix: 7XCE 17144-1N and Side 2: 7XCE-17145-1N.
Side 1 stampers are PZT1 GA. and Side 2: PZT1 GG the embossed letters PT which date this record from 26th November 1962, are visible on the side one record label.
Both sides of the Vinyl Disc are in Excellent Minus condition, bright vinyl surfaces, with no deep scratches or scuffs, showing light surface hairline scratches to both sides, none of which effect the play quality.
Play Quality:
Both sides of the record play very well throughout, without skips, clicks or pops, however there is background crackle/surface noise to both tracks.
The Vinyl 45 comes in its ORIGINAL coloured Parlophone Company Sleeve, which is in respaetableExcellent condition, showing just light creasing, there are NO seam splits or tears to the bag.
A very respectable example of this still very collectible single for the1962 Beatles first UK release, nearly reaching it’s 50th year since it’s first release.
