Description
An original late 1st issue of BFS on UK Parlophone from winter 64 - whilst charting. Matrix 4/4. Lovely solid pressing. Notice the satisfying bulge at the spindle hole...and this gives it a BIGLY advantage over other 60's copies. 'Parlophone' mentioned in perimeter text and recording 1st pub still present. A really well preserved original - not abused like so many other copies. The vinyl comes housed in an original mono cover. We have the Emitex inner too. So 100% genuine and 100% complete.
Vinyl (Ex/Vg+) In great condition and has only seen relatively light use. Yes there's a good few slight marks per side - but this baby is pressed heavy...and this means it much less susceptible to wear than later copies. For the vintage it looks smart but don't expect mirror surfaces! A thorough testing from beginning to end reveals a mostly EXCELLENT level of playback with minor deviation in a couple of spots per side. Intros and inbetweens are nice and quiet and the audio comes across with excellent clarity. Given the vintage - impressive. I'm getting some very clean mono feed - and you can hear all the detail well down into the mix. Even the quieter tracks like Moon and Sun play great. No kidding...really really good. MOST copies just do not play the acoustic tracks like this. I'm getting a few minor crackles briefly in one spot per side. And a couple of ticks in a couple of spots [e.g. Moonlight]. And a couple of clicks as 'Honey Don't' starts up and a couple of ticks late on. To be frank - this example is playing WELL above average. A great rendition by any standard and much better than what typically surfaces.
Cover (Vg+) In very tidy condition and certainly survived the passage of time better than many examples of this title. Nice clean front with a couple of creases e.g. bottom right corner and some wear thumbnails at the opening side. The rear looks very tidy as is the interior. Some light edge wear nothing worrisome. The spine is 60% intact with only light wear and some stress creases [perfectly acceptable]. Overall the cover retains verygood rigidity.
Inner (Vg+) Light ageing , but no splits.
