THE BEATLES-Ain't She Sweet-1964 ATCO Picture Sleeve 45
My best friend and I were crazy and fanatical Beatlemaniacs in the 1960s. We idolized those Liverpool Lads, were willing to go to all lengths just to see them, and loved it all. My favorite was Paul and hers was Ringo. WELL – Fast forward about 40 years. We are now in our 50s and are planning a vacation together. We’ve decided to try and pay for it with our Beatles memorabilia, so here goes. Some items will be listed in lots and some separately. In the descriptions, I’ll tell stories of my antics and how some of the more rare items were attained. Maybe these should be called “Excerpts from the life of a 14 year old Beatlemaniac”. Be assured these items are the real deal, so bid with confidence – and please check my other auctions.
This is the picture sleeve from one of my favorite Beatles records. I bought it in 1964 or 1965 and the Singer Sewing Machine Store in Antioch Shopping Center, Kansas City, Mo. I was the only one in our group to have this 45. The flip side, Nobody’s Child had Tony Sheridan on it. Unfortunately, I broke the record.
This picture sleeve is actually in pretty good shape. Problems I found are some surface dirt and scotch tape marks on one side only. The arched lines seen on one side looks like residue from a cup or glass. There are no tears, rips or pencil or pen marks. It’s about 7” square.
