Description
This is the Beatles 1969 Abbey Road album. It has a number of scratches on the LP, but is quite playable. The cover is in good condition, but shows signs of shelf wear. This is the Green Apple label S0-383.
When Abbey Road was recorded the Beatles had fully matured both as songwriters and musicians. The Beatles were not guitar heroes like some of their contemporaries such as Eric Clapton but the lead guitar work in 'The End' is as good as anything you will ever hear. McCartney, Lennon and George Harrison all trade guitar licks in their own distinctive style in what sounds like a spontaneous jam.
Harrison wrote a number of songs during the time the Beatles were together but he was always in the shadow of Lennon and McCartney. With Abbey Road he came up with the song 'Something' which would be rated as highly as anything the Beatles had done. Even Ringo Starr contributed a reasonable song with 'Octopus's Garden.'
This album is signed by ALL FOUR of the Beatles. I have tried to take good close ups of the signatures, in case someone wishes to check them out. I don't know exactly when the autographs were obtained as this was my mother's album and she has passed away. This is one of many autographed albums she collected over the years. I hope to list more of them in the near future.

After receiving numerous emails for info, I have contacted my Dad and will give his best recollection about these autographs. Most of Momma's autographs were obtained at concerts or jacket signings. The signatures on this album were not. Two of them were obtained at the end of 1969 in Canada. John Lennon and Ringo Starr. Dad said they also got Yoko Ono's autograph on a seperate paper, but it was lost over the years. Paul and George signed about a year later at a restaurant in New York. That's pretty much all I've got. I was only about 7 at the time, so the most I can personally tell anyone is that the autographs have been there as long as I can remember.
