Description

An original Mono 1st Press of Oldies on the UK Parlophone label. Matrix 1G/1G. Stampers 1M/3MO. Please note label design is totally consistent with 1st press - all the publishing dates are positioned on the left-side. The heavy set vinyl comes housed in an original mono Garrod & Lofthouse cover. Also included is the original Emi advertising inner. So, 100% genuine and 100% complete.
Vinyl (Ex+) Smashing condition and is very well preserved having seen only very light use. Under close inspection there are couple of light marks either side - nothing remotely troublesome. A thorough testing from beginning to end reveals a EXCELLENT+ level of playback. Intros and inbetweens are silent and the audio comes across with perfect clarity. The audio on these 'collection' LPs can often be a little underwhelming on some copies, but if you find a nice heavy pressed early mono - it makes all the difference. Very nice clean and assured rendition of these Beatles classics - all in mono. Interference is practically non-existent. All we could detect were a couple of crackles in a couple of isolated moments. Even 'Michelle' which is notoriously hard to find playing well is as clean as you could possibly hope for. FINAL UPGRADE.
Cover (Ex) Nice shiny front with only two tiny thumbnail creases. The rear seems to have avoided the usual fading which often afflicts the rear - just one tiny patch down in the bottom right corner. Edge wear is very light and the spine is 100% intact. Overall the cover retains perfect rigidity. A truly impressive example.
Inner (Vg+) One side split which as been taped up. Otherwise aok.
