• “MURRAY THE K and the BEATLES AS IT HAPPENED Part 1 & Part 2” by The Beatles & DJ Murray The K (Kaufman)

• This is IRC BRS 1/2. The record numbers “BRS-1” and “BRS-2” are found etched in the trail-off for side 1 and side 2.

• The record consists of historical interviews recorded in February of 1964 in New York, Miami, London and Washington by famed New York DJ Murray The K of WINS Radio. He became the first and only disc jockey that the Beatles allowed into their inner circle and to accompany them on their first tour of America. They had heard of him from various English artists who had appeared on his Brooklyn Fox rock and roll shows over the years. He broadcast his WINS show from the Plaza Hotel suite of the Beatles on their first night in America. After that, he accompanied the Beatles to their concert at the Coliseum in Washington, D.C. and then to Miami for the Beatles' second appearance on The Ed Sullivan Show. In Miami, he roomed with George Harrison, and it is believed that Harrison gave him the nickname of "the Fifth Beatle.”

• This record and its picture sleeve were not released by the Beatles or their record companies. Copies were ordered through and mailed out by the “Murray The K Fan Club”.

• In addition to interviews, the record contains two snippets of live versions of “She Loves You”, a snippet of a live version of “Shout”, and John Lennon reading his poem “I Sat Belonley”.

• The VINYL is in VG CONDITION with a number of very light/slight surface hairlines/scuffs (none “feel-able”). The vinyl has nice gloss. The white labels are quite clean with some light aging/foxing.

• The picture sleeve that was issued with this record is not included.

• Some folks may not really care for Beatles interview recordings, but one has to remember that it was their interviews that endeared the boys to the U.S. press/journalists and to the American public overall.

• This record is a GREAT HISTORICAL RECORDING from the EARLY DAYS of “BEATLEMANIA” in America!
