For many years I did promotion for music labels, large and small, and have accumulated product not only from labels I represented but labels I competed with as well. Understand this was not a collection as such; it was the residue of what I did for a living. These discs were not stored in air tight lockers of keep in a temperature controlled clean room, they were in boxes in my office and although they may have never been removed from the dust jacket please expect dust and even some light scratching. Others have survived the passage of time in undisturbed condition like this amazing, unique, box promo. From 1978 we have for a no reserve auction a never played copy of a rare Casablanca marketing box that was sent to music retailers back in the day. Neil Bogart, the founder of Casablanca Records & Filmworks is in my eyes was one of the greatest music promoters of all time and this item gives testimony, and some insight into to my belief. I hope someday there will be a movie documenting his mover and shaker capabilities, his love of life and love of music. Contents of the box, released to promote the movie “Thank God it’s Friday, are as follows: Neat die cut base has two eight track and two cassettes tapes, one the sound track of the film and the other is titled “Return To Casablanca” that gives them another chance to showcase the band “Kiss”. Placed on top of these tapes you will find the same two titles in 12” vinyl configuration as well as a 11” X 8” marketing booklet. Oh, and I should not forget to mention that all these rare items are still completely factory sealed. The outer black cardboard box has survived in excellent condition, is clearly market “Sample” and retains its day glow sticker. Not many produced, and few, if any survivors in this “as new” condition. If you have questions about this item please make use of the “Ask The Seller A Question” option.
