Description

Prestige PRLP 143 4 tracks with leader, Charles, vibes, bongos; Jimmy Raney, guitar; Dic Nivison, bass; Ed Shaughnessy, drums. Recorded in 1952. Cover: VG+ or Better 1" top and bottom split at the insert edge. Light aging on the back cover. fine overall appearance with only slight indications of wear from handling. Record: VG+ or Better Visually shows no wear. In spite of the unplayed appearance, there are intervals of groove noise. This includes some pops, clicks and crackles. Most are on the first track on each side. This is clearly the result of the early 10" pressing. Much of the record has no noise but for those interested, they should consider the described noise. I believe that this is as good a condition for this issue as were ever press at the time. The noise is irregular. For example the track " Night In Tunisia" has almost no noise and I would rate that tune Mint(-). For those interested in this early edition, it would be hard to find a better copy. Audibly checked.
