SENSATIONAL HEAVY guitar work out from this super rich talent and star of James Gang and Deep Purple. Bolin's legacy is both long and cherished but this album must surely rank as his peice de resistance - a magical collection of tracks benefiting enormously from some of the best guitar playing that has ever been recorded. Half the tracks benefit from vocals and the other half are instrumentals with nods to jazz rock, hard rock and funk rock. Think Jeff beck but only better and heavier.
Some great tracks here including the brilliantly funky 'The Grind', the melancholic 'Dreamer', the super heavy title track (the best thing that he ever recorded in my view) and 'Lotus', the jazz fusion 'Marching Powder' and the quirky yet heavy 'Wild Dogs'
Let us not forget the closest thing he ever recorded to a hit, 'People People' a deceptively brilliant track that could've provided him with an instantly recognizable international calling card.
A brilliant, brilliant talent that, if he had lived, should have gone on to become one of the moss influential guitar players of all time right up there with Beck, Page, Blackmore and Clapton.
This auction is part of a fantastic collection of seventies rock which I was lucky enough to acquire. Most of these records were stored with the utmost care and sparsely played. Some were possibly never played or may have been for just a handful of times.

Vinyl: Clean and shiny condition. No spindle marks on labels and no other signs of any use. Impossible to find like this after 43 years. Grades as top shop fresh MINT!
Cover: Again, virtually no signs of use. Issued in a beautifully designed cover - retains full gloss. Sharp corners (one minuscule ding top left), no bends, no ring wear, no split seams and no creases. Spine is stiff, square and totally uncrushed. Grades as shop fresh MINT-!
