Description
I acquired this in 1976 from Jeff Jourard, who played on this album, and is listed on the insert. During that time, he even played me some rehearsal tapes of the band recorded at Shelter Studios (I believe this was in late 1975). The record is pristine, having been played once and copied to cassette. The original shrink wrap is on it. Included is the original insert, with Tom Petty photos. This is the first version, with a different label on the record (note label is orange as in the closeups -not yellow). Record, jacket and insert are in mint condition. There is a very minor and barely noticeable bit of wear at top and bottom right where the shrink wrap is slightly pulled back from storage (see photos). Note, other versions of this early release are stamped as "Demonstration - Not For Sale" - this one is not. Ultra Rare with true history. Jeff was (and still is) a friend of mine. He played on many of the songs, but due to a falling out between him and Tom during an early gig, didn't make the final line-up. Jeff later on went to play with and help form the Motels with Martha Davis. R.I.P. Tom
