More details below:
Audio Quality:
Record cleaned and play tested in full on my Michell Gyrodec. The LP plays and sounds absolutely fantastic. No pops, skips, jumps or clicks. Only very light occasional background presence between some tracks but nothing serious or that spoils the listening experience. Audio reproduction was with my ortofon rondo bronze stereo MC cartridge which produces a warm sound and the sound quality on my system is really excellent. May sound better with a mono cartridge. Rest assured this is not a crackly hissy VG playback, it is really lovely, all tracks are fantastic and you won't be dissappointed. Plays exactly as expected based on the visual EXCELLENT grading and the quality heavy Brunswick pressing. 1 minute video of playback has been uploaded so you can see and hear. Amp turned to loud!
Visual- Record
Visually inspected the record under bright spot lights. I have cleaned both sides thoroughly. Both sides retain a lovely gloss shine. Only very light hairlines are present to surface. No deep marks, scuffs or scratches. No 'feelable' marks. Both sides comfortably fall within record collector magazine EXCELLENT grade.
Stamped matrices:
MG-10256-1B M KT 2 D
MG-10257-1B KT 2 1 SM A
Labels - visual
No writing, stains, marks, residues or tears to either label. Both centres have evidence of play around the spindle but spindle lines and wear are light. See close up photos of each. I've graded these at EX- because some spindle marks are visible.
Visual Sleeve:
The front laminated sleeve has no rips, splits, tears, heavy creasing, laminate lift / damage or writing. The sleeve feels solid when held.
The pinched spine is in superb solid condition with all text readable and almost no wear. Photo taken showing all writing along length in close up. The only minutest blemish is a minute crease on the M of "My". (Only visible on close up camera.)
There is a very very faint ringwear mark visible at the front [when reflected in bright light] and visible as very light rubbing at rear from storage. The rear sleeve has been kept predominantly clean from grime and dirt.
The only imperfections to the sleeve are :
- age related light browning / foxing around the edges and spine edge.
- a 1 small circular [15mm] light brown stain at the top - present when I bought it.
- a light crease visible to top right rear sleeve.
I've graded the sleeve as EX- (minus), because of the foxing and small stain it's a lower end of EX. The photos show condition really well.
The original poly lined inner sleeve is intact, no splits, little wear and grades EX.
Lots of photos and a video provided. Overall, this is a really well cared for copy of a classic album which is in record collector grade EX condition.
