Description
I’ve been an eBay member for over 17 years with over 1700 100% positive feedback. This is a relatively new account for music and memorabilia only.
Records are visually graded, but I do listen to intros for crackle and clarity, and play through any marks.
THE WHO – MY GENERATION – BRUNSWICK MONO 1st PRESSING 1965 – 1B/1B - MONO – VG
Not perfect, but a very playable 1st pressing copy of this classic from 1965 that still sounds good.
Catalogue number LAT 8616, that appears as LAT.8616 on the labels. Original recording made and licensed by Decca Records Inc. New York U.S.A.
Matrices: Side One: MG10256-1B and Side Two: MG10257-1B There are other stamps around the dead wax, but I can’t accurately read them
Tax code (M/T) on the right of the label and the Rights Society boxes are above each other and below ? 1965 on the left.
Front laminated cover and 1cm over the spine.
Track 2 on Side 2 is only credited to “Brown” on the rear cover.
Side 1: Light crackle during run-in and audible for first 15 seconds also crackle in gaps between tracks, but nothing to dominate the music. There is a name written on the label, but quite hard to spot, it’s near the K in Brunswick.
Side 2: Similar run-in and between tracks. There is a scratch (1.4cm) across the end of T1 and the start of T2. This is cannot be heard in T1 (The Kids Are Alright), but there is a light click for the first 80 seconds of T2 (Please, Please, Please). It’s not the loudest I’ve ever heard, more noticeable on headphones than in the room, but it is there.
Both sides are glossy, but have obviously been well played, with quite a lot of sleeve marks and other hairlines in strong light, but only the one scratch mentioned above. I’ve listened to the whole album and it plays through with good sound quality and no sticks or jumps.
The cover is laminated on the front and 1cm onto the rear over the spine. There is 3.5cm tear on the front and the unlaminated rear is a bit grubby.
Poly lined inner sleeve is printed on one side with four boxes – “IMPORTANT!” at the top and “PLAYING SPEED 33 1/3 r.p.m” at the bottom. British patent No. 800513.
