Description

THE WHO's A QUICK ONE WHILE HE'S AWAY (REACTION LP  original MONO  593002)

This is the original Who 2nd album, bought by me 2nd-hand decades ago. Astonished to find the vinyl in such superb condition - it must have been played as there are the usual light scuff marks on the label, close to the spindle hole. But apart from those the VINYL LOOKS UNPLAYED - the rainbow shine under a light, no signs of wear, not even the slightest hairlines or scuffs even when held close to an electric light. The audio sound is fresh, crisp and clear when played, with no perceptible background noise. All in all, I have no hesitation in calling this LP NEAR MINT!

THIS IS AN EDIT:   I've just noticed there are the remains of the previous owner's initials on the label on side 1; it looks as if someone has tried to erase the initials, leaving a slight smudge on the label & leaving this patch slightly glossy. It's not that obvious, so I didn't notice this flaw on first listing the LP.

The gloriously psychedelic SLEEVE I class as borderline VG+/EXCELLENT, after some thought!  Let me explain with some closer description:  the laminate is intact, with only 3 tiny creases in it on the spine. Otherwise the spine is near perfect, with all the title still perfectly readable, no further wear or crushing. The corners are sharp & square and the edges at the opening are sharp and crisp looking, scarcely any sings of wear.  The top & bottom edges are excellent & intact, the only wear being on the bottom corner next to the opening.  So far, so Excellent, I'd say. The weakness is where creases (near the opening & diagonally, where the LP must have been picked up by the corner) have caused a little separation between the board & the laminate;  these creases are not massive or damaging to the integrity of the board, in fact they are quite slight; but the solid black background of the album cover means that the laminate looks greyer along these creases and is more visible than it would have been on a cover with a multi-coloured design (you can get an idea from the photo - look at the top right corner where the crease is just visible). This last is the only real weakness to the cover - without the creases showing up like this, I'd have classified the cover as Excellent without hesitation.

The inners are the usual plastic lined ones, intact & quite solid, if a little yellowed round the edges with time.

Hope you enjoy the album, whoever bids the highest!  And sorry for the long description but I want to give you the exact detail so you'll know exactly what you're getting. I promise any dissatisfied buyer a full refund of the bid.
