Description
THE VELVET UNDERGOUND & NICO East Coast MONO Torso Sticker 1st U.S. pressing on thick vinyl and cardboard. East coast pressing indicated by the "Side 1 and Side 2" on the labels, and "S" block stamp in the runouts. Fully play tested for accurate grading, this is by no means a "hi-fi" recording, it's raw and noisy as a recording which adds to it's charm for sure. If you haven't heard the MONO version of this record, you're in for a treat, it's definitely ow this album is supposed to be enjoyed. The Stereo versions lack in bass and volume compared to this one. The vinyl looks to be unplayed and near mint! No marks that I could find, when I removed the record from the sleeve, it looked like it was the first time it had been taken out and the vinyl was practically fused to the paper inner!! On playback the audio is loud, punchy, and super clean even at high volume. This is the "lawsuit sticker" edition, where a large sticker was placed over the actor Eric Emerson after he sued the group for using his image for the initial pressings of the LP. Still a 1967 release, the album features the 1st pressing mixes regardless of the cover change.

Notes
This release listing is for the original Mono vinyl (V-5008) that came with the original Stereo (V6-5008) torso sleeve. The mismatch was likely due to an overrun of Mono vinyl and the pressing plant. There were some copies that came with a small Mono sticker that covered "Stereo" on the back of the gatefold sleeve.
Gatefold cover with banana sticker. First pressing with Emerson image upside down on the back cover.
East Coast pressing with labels giving "Side 1" and "Side 2" instead of A & B
