Description
The Profile were a Brighton-based late 60s group containing former members of The Beat Merchants and The Untamed. In 1968 they recorded this two-sided acetate at R G Jones’ studio on the famous Oak custom label before signing to Philips, where they released one single, ‘Politician Man’ b/w ‘Where Love Is’. However, the original Oak acetate version of ‘Politician Man’ is much better and longer than the group’s re-recording of it for Philips, with a completely different backing track and a lengthy intro as well as an extended outro featuring additional sound effects, police whistles etc. The other side of the acetate, ‘The Toonerville Trolley’, is an unreleased version of a song from the first Electric Prunes album.
Acetate is in beautiful mintish condition.
